Umbria
Despite the challenges of a hot and dry summer, particularly in the early part of the harvest, Umbrian winemakers managed the conditions well. The crucial spring rains and the timely arrival of September precipitation were key factors. The 2022 vintage is generally considered to have produced good quality wines, with good acidity in whites and balanced tannins and freshness in reds, though yields might have been somewhat reduced in certain areas due to the summer heat.
